What should you expect when working with me?
Evaluation at the start of the session:
Each session begins with an overall evaluation of the individual noting emotional and mental stresses, areas of disconnection within the body, body posture and imbalances and also what the intention is for this session. This enables me to determine the primary need and entry point to the system that day and what techniques would be most beneficial to regain improved functionality on all levels.
During the Session:
The techniques will vary and depend on the individual on that particular day. Each individual has a “Hierarchy of Needs” and I am there to ensure they are met. The system ALWAYS controls and is in charge of the session since it is the client/individual who does the healing. I only remove the obstacles for the body to engage its own innate wisdom for rebalancing and self-correcting. Some benefits, easily visible, are:
Increased relaxation and calmness
Enhanced ability to self-regulate the nervous system, allowing access to all functions
Enhanced connection throughout the entire body and the ability to access, stabilize and mobilize body parts with prior restrictions
Improved overall balance and posture
Increased range of motion
Improved overall well being and performance
Debrief:
I typically will explain my findings throughout the session, but sometimes I will wait until the end to summarize or provide brief notes if you cannot be in attendance for your horse’s session. I am always available for questions should they occur.
Integration after the session:
This is an incredibly important part and I cannot stress enough to allow adequate time for the body to reorganize after a session. Whenever we give input (any healing modality does that), the body gets information it now needs to assimilate and learn how to “own” new capabilities or ways of being. If we disrupt this process, we lose some of those benefits. So, I always recommend that the individual is allowed to rest and move as they see fit for the rest of the day. If we are addressing serious concerns, please allow additional time for this process as it not only happens on a physical level but also impacts the emotional and mental health.
Frequency:
I am often asked how frequently I would like to see an individual. And the short answer is: it depends. Most of my clients are on a monthly maintenance plan. This allows time for integration and the change being made not only within the individual body parts but the whole being. If we are working on a deeply impacted system, I do recommend more frequent work but this is determined on an individual basis. Veterinary and medical treatments also need to be taken into consideration.
However, to have the most beneficial impact, a regular wellness program is recommended.
